Average prices hide plan-structure differences — a bill-credit plan and a flat-rate plan can share a 1,000 kWh price and behave very differently at your usage. The compare tool estimates every plan at your actual monthly kWh.
Early Termination Fees
Cancellation fees listed in Reliant's current plan documents range from $150 to $395. Some fees are flat; others are charged per month remaining on the contract, which changes the math substantially. The exact amount and structure are stated in each plan's EFL and Terms of Service — confirm there before enrolling. Moving to a new address generally lets you exit a Texas contract without a fee when you provide proof of the move.
Plan Structures Reliant Offers
Reliant's current listings in our data are straightforward single-rate fixed plans (the Power On family) — the same structure offered at several term lengths. Current listings span 12, 18, 24, and 36 months, all fixed-rate. The rate differences between terms are small in our data; the bigger difference is the cancellation fee, which rises with term length.
Does Reliant Use Bill Credits?
Reliant's current listed plans don't use minimum-usage bill credits. Pricing is a base charge plus a per-kWh energy rate, which makes bills easier to predict across seasons than credit-dependent plans.

A flat rate with a monthly base charge means low-usage months carry a proportionally higher effective rate. If you're in a small apartment, compare the 500 kWh average price, not the 1,000 kWh one.
Listed cancellation fees in current Reliant plan documents step up meaningfully from 12-month to 36-month terms. If you might move, weigh the longer rate lock against the exit cost.
