Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP) serves a unique non-contiguous set of communities across Texas, including parts of the Dallas-Fort Worth suburbs, communities in the Gulf Coast area of Brazoria County, and scattered North Texas towns. TNMP's territory is smaller and less geographically concentrated than other Texas TDSPs, but the same deregulation rules apply — you can choose your retail electricity provider.
Important: Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP) is your TDSP (Transmission and Distribution Service Provider) — the company that delivers electricity to your home through its grid infrastructure. TNMP does not sell electricity plans. Licensed retail electricity providers compete for customers in the TNMP territory.
TNMP Delivery Charges
TNMP's delivery charges are regulated by the Texas PUC. They include a fixed monthly base charge and a per-kWh delivery fee, and they apply uniformly in TNMP territory regardless of retail provider choice.

Recent TNMP Delivery Charge Updates
TNMP files periodic rate adjustments with the PUCT. As a smaller utility, comprehensive rate cases occur less frequently than at larger TDSPs, but Distribution Cost Recovery Factor (DCRF) and Transmission Cost Recovery Factor (TCRF) adjustments follow the standard PUCT regulatory schedule. TNMP owns and operates electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure in its service areas. Like all Texas TDSPs, TNMP does not sell electricity plans; licensed retail providers compete for customers on TNMP's grid across both its North Texas and Gulf Coast clusters.
TNMP Service Territory
TNMP serves two geographically separate clusters of Texas communities. The North Texas cluster includes portions of DFW suburbs and surrounding towns: parts of Lewisville, parts of Denton, Stephenville (Erath County), Mineral Wells (Palo Pinto County), and Granbury (Hood County). The Gulf Coast cluster covers communities in Brazoria County south of Houston, including Clute, Alvin, Lake Jackson, and Angleton. These two areas share no geographic border — they are operated under the same TNMP TDSP regulatory umbrella but are physically separate grid networks with different infrastructure profiles.
TNMP Grid Infrastructure
TNMP is a subsidiary of PNM Resources (acquired by Avangrid, a subsidiary of Iberdrola, completing in 2023). Despite being smaller than Oncor or CenterPoint, TNMP operates under the same PUCT regulatory framework and the same ERCOT market rules. TNMP's Texas operations are separate from its New Mexico operations, which serve different communities under New Mexico utility regulation. Texas customers interact only with the Texas TDSP operations managed under ERCOT.
