About this data
We capture the public Texas retail plan inventory from Power to Choose listings and parsed Electricity Facts Labels several times daily, validate the pricing, and record a weekly snapshot every Monday. Figures cover the five deregulated delivery territories (Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP Texas North, AEP Texas Central, TNMP) and include TDSP delivery charges. Rate averages cover standard-priced plans; free-period (time-of-use) plans are counted in inventory and prevalence figures but excluded from rate averages because their cost depends on usage timing. History before mid-May 2026 was reconstructed from our capture archive; the week of March 16, 2026 has no snapshot because collection did not run that week.
