What Are 12-Month Fixed-Rate Electricity Plans?

A 12-month fixed-rate electricity plan locks your energy supply rate for a full year. Your price per kWh stays the same regardless of market fluctuations. The TDSP delivery charges (from Oncor) are regulated separately by the Texas PUC and may change during your contract, but the energy portion of your bill remains stable.

Twelve-month plans are the most common contract length in Texas. They offer a balance between rate stability and flexibility — longer than short-term plans but without the multi-year commitment of 24- or 36-month contracts.

Why Compare Plans Using Actual Usage?

The table above uses the 1,000 kWh benchmark because it is the most common comparison point in Texas. But your actual usage may be higher or lower depending on your home size, season, and energy habits. A plan that ranks best at 1,000 kWh may not be the best at 750 or 1,500 kWh.

TrueBill lets you enter your own monthly usage for personalized rankings. You can also test nearby usage levels to see how sensitive each plan is to small changes.

About the Oncor Service Area

The service territory includes Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Irving, and parts of the Austin suburbs including Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Georgetown.

Prices and plan availability can change. Estimated costs depend on usage, delivery territory, fees, credits, and plan terms. Customers should confirm final pricing and terms directly with the provider before enrolling. TrueBill Energy does not sell electricity or enroll customers.
